How TomSyn earns the right to say a cell is empty. Architecture we run — and methods we do not pretend to run.

A positive atom is a cited discrete fact. New atoms should carry a quote when a matching paper exists. Cite-less seed lines are legacy, not a license to invent.
A negative verdict is harder: YEAR / C4A / HARM are queries over this vault's NCT table. Empty means the predicate returned zero rows here — not that science has ended.
A negative is only as good as its corpus. Ours is a title-scored living shelf plus registry rows from Europe PMC, ClinicalTrials.gov, OpenAlex, and Consensus when a key exists.
We do not have closed-world completeness. A missed OA paper can hide a falsifier. Every verdict ships with the paper count and NCT count it was computed against.
Classification and duration are typed predicates (weeks as a number, QTc/MDD as regex-plus-status). That is discrimination, not SciFact.
We do not run extractive span-taggers, NLI entailment, or calibrated logits. An LLM does not author unsourced atoms. PubChem is chemistry IDs only.
The protocol pulse is a real harvest, not a countdown graphic. The adversary is a logged veto, not a second model that reads full text.
We have not yet shipped an agent whose only job is “find one document that fills YEAR” with a hunt log in the packet. Until we do, the empty cell is a query over this shelf, not a proof against the whole literature.
The product is the packet: verdicts.md, holes.md, trials.json, clean-set.csv, params.json, a SHA-256 manifest. Re-download after a pulse. The page and the zip must agree on the counts.
Never-shrink: a larger vault wins a merge. Atoms may be swept for lies; papers are not silently dropped.
A fabricated cite is a catastrophe. An over-cautious empty cell is a Tuesday. 95% stays locked. We will not say cure, treat, or guarantee.
Schizophrenia is the wedge because counterfeit certainty is thickest there. The schema is condition-shaped, not condition-magical.
